This is my first attempt at blogging. I am not very good at grasping things so reading blogs hasn't helped. i am not very good at writing either . This is just an attempt to improve on that front.
I had a long discussion with my roomies about the quality of teachers in my coll ,exams, scores and all those things which can be associated with these things in college life. I hate studying and writing exams is another thing which I find repulsive. The latter is because I mess up irrespective of how difficult the paper/subject is.Papers and messing up, these two have now become synonymous with my life.
This 'messing up of exams' was not a regular feature. Though it was one in my early days in school, things started improving as i entered high school. Life flipped 180 in the 12th boards and the - mess up your exams- syndrome spread to the competitive exams. These dreaded exams were going to decide my future.
As usual i 'messed up'. Actually saying that i messed up is putting it very lightly considering the ranks i secured in every exam. Each one of them could have been used by the telephone exchange guys when they allot new numbers.
One year of sitting at home and preparations didn't help either. Yup, the loser part of me compelled me to drop a year and try my luck again. As mentioned before things didn't workout. The same 'telephone numbers' for ranks. I felt that 'PCM' were not going to get me anywhere and ended up applying for a commerce degree in few colleges. In a final attempt ( a very desperate one) i had applied for an engineering seat at SASTRA and surprisingly, i got a call (my first one) for counseling.i "chose" bio-informatics (didn't have any other options). Well, the college was on the list of participating institutions in the AIEEE so i thought it would be good if not the best. My initial days at the college proved me right. The college wasn't as good as it had claimed in its prospectus. All the talks of it having great infrastructure and facilities can best be termed exaggerations. But then most private colleges are like that.
I am in 3rd year now. Sitting in the bio-informatics laboratory(which is slightly bigger than a school's computer room and having just as many computers) supposed to be writing programs in JAVA(Don't even know the syntax). The person handling this lab for our batch has already questioned me once so i better get back to work...(which involves copying programs from my friends ;-) ....)
